Peggy Knickerbocker is a free-lance food and travel writer living in San Francisco with her husband Robert Fisher and two dogs and two cats. She’s author of five cookbooks. Over the years she has contributed to top magazines and newspapers and is contributing editor to Saveur and Gourmet. She won the 2006 James Beard Award for Simple Soirees and has been nominated for the IACP award several times. Her Ferry Plaza Farmers’ Market Cookbook and Olive Oil from Tree to Table have gone into multiple printings. She blogged for Epicurious.com.

She teaches food writing, cooking classes and writes book reviews and is a writing coach. Until recently she was Vice President of the board of CUESA of the Ferry Plaza Farmers’ Market and was on the board of the Chez Panisse Foundation. She swims in San Francisco Bay at the Dolphin Club.
