Theresa BrownGold is the painter/writer/songwriter/performance artist behind Art As Social Inquiry. She uses art to start dialog around social issues like access to healthcare, immigration, violence, and dying. Her art project is called Art As Social Inquiry. Theresa paints large, expressive faces as a way to tell personal stories and connect viewers to those stories – to real people. Theresa has taken her portraits to Washington DC to demonstrate in front of the US Supreme Court and Capitol as a way to bear witness for those trying to get healthcare. When she isn’t working in the studio or writing, she takes her art projects on the road to give talks at conferences, classrooms, churches and other venues about the true meaning of compassion.
