Rachel Olstein Kaplan

Associate Director of Yahel

Rachel's interest in social justice began when she volunteered for a year with AmeriCorps after high school. She received her BA from Vassar College in Urban Education and French and spent two years teaching second grade at an inner city school. She then shifted to the outdoor classroom, teaching at the Teva Learning Center and leading service trips in India and the Azore Islands.

Rachel received an MA in Community Leadership and Philanthropy Studies at Hebrew University; her studies focused on international development. Rachel is the former Director of Volunteer Services at the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village in Rwanda where she led service learning trips, oversaw the long-term volunteer program and ran local outreach efforts. She is now the Associate Director of Yahel, an educational organization that offers service learning and social action programs in Israel.

Rachel and her husband, Ori, founded ORA Web Design in 2012. They design and develop websites for small businesses and individuals. When not working, they enjoy traveling, long hikes, eating from their garden and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
