The Rev. James Ellis III works in college chaplaincy afters years of parish leadership. He is a graduate of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University, and the University of Maryland. He was also a 2013 Guthrie Scholar at Columbia Theological Seminary and 2012-13 Lewis Fellow at Wesley Theological Seminary, a post-graduate, post-ordination leadership development program for clergy under 35. A writer at-heart, James served both as editor and a contributor to a book on Smyth & Helwys Press, Tell the Truth, Shame the Devil: Stories about the Challenges of Young Pastors. Ordained in the Baptist tradition, he occasionally contributes to Ethics Daily and Day1. He enjoys drinking lemonade, frequenting the gym, and dabbling in photography, and is madly in love with his wife of nine years.
