Professor emeritus of social work, marijuana dependence researcher, and author of memoir titled MARIJUANA NATION (Pegasus, 2014).

Professor emeritus, University of Washington School of Social Work. First studied marijuana while a social work officer in the Army in Vietnam. Jointed the University of Washington faculty in 1972 following doctoral studies at the University of California, Berkeley. Conducted a series of federally-funded studies of marijuana dependence behavioral interventions for adults and adolescents. Author of MARIJUANA NATION: ONE MAN'S CHRONICLE OF AMERICA GETTING HIGH - FROM VIETNAM TO LEGALIZATION (Pegasus, 2014).
