Ruben Gonzales is Deputy Vice President of Resource Development at National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the country. He builds and manages relationships with some of NCLR’s most crucial funders, including individuals, foundations, and corporations. Prior to joining NCLR, he served as Director of Development for The Urban Assembly, a school management organization based in New York City, where he oversaw all fundraising efforts.

Ruben grew up in South Phoenix, Arizona and graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Most of his family currently resides in Arizona, while his brother (and best man) lives in Los Angeles, CA. Ruben and his husband Joaquin live in Columbia Heights in Washington DC.
