Sara Benincasa is the author of "Real Artists Have Day Jobs," "DC Trip," "Great," and "Agorafabulous!: Dispatches From My Bedroom." In 2017, she adapted "DC Trip" as a screenplay with Bona Fide, Gunpowder & Sky, and Adaptive Studios. She adapted "Agorafabulous!" as a pilot with Diablo Cody and Red Hour Television. She can soon be seen on "Hampton Deville" on Comedy Central; recent roles include "The Jim Gaffigan Show" on TVLand (2016) and the critically acclaimed short film "The Focus Group" (dir. Heather Fink), which she also wrote. She attended Emerson College and Warren Wilson College, and got an MA from Teachers College at Columbia University. She travels the country to speak at colleges about mental health awareness. She lives in Los Angeles, where she continues to recover from her years in stand-up comedy. Her next novel is forthcoming from Adaptive Books in 2018.
