Shannon Sullivan

Shannon Sullivan, MPH, is Executive Director of the Illinois Safe Schools Alliance. The Alliance is dedicated to promoting the safety, support and healthy development of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth in Illinois schools and communities through advocacy, education, youth organizing and research. Shannon has been involved in education justice and LGBTQ activism for almost 20 years through her roles as youth activist, teacher, and nonprofit leader. Shannon currently specializes in partnering with schools to work to fully transform school climates to support student success across all areas, including bias-based bullying and school discipline.
