Simon Abrams
Principal Interactive Developer, Droga5

Simon is originally from Guyana but spent much of his childhood living in places like Canada, Belgium and Iraq, due to his father’s career as a diplomat with the Guyanese Foreign Service. Simon first came to the United States for college and, via a rather circuitous route (including Gt. Barrington, MA and Savannah, GA), ultimately settled in New York City, where he began his career in advertising. His first full-time gig was at Darwin Digital (a now-defunct digital shop that was then owned by Saatchi & Saatchi), where he cut his teeth making ads for a multitude of Procter & Gamble and General Mills brands. He eventually landed at Deutsch, Inc., where he has spent the last 11 years producing work for a wide array of clients, including Tylenol, Olympus, IKEA, Verizon, PNC Bank, Outback and Microsoft. Outside of advertising, Simon has taught Photoshop at NYU and at Miami Ad School’s Brooklyn location, and he is the co-author of the Photoshop CS4 Bible (Wiley, 2009). He enjoys traveling, practicing karate and spending time with his wife Stephanie and their cats Max and Radar Love. He is an avid photographer and can often be found roaming around Brooklyn with a camera of some sort.
