Steven G. Gabbe, MD

Dr. Gabbe is one of the world’s leading experts on the complications of diabetes and pregnancy. He is senior vice president for Health Sciences for The Ohio State University and chief executive officer of The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center. He received his undergraduate degree magna cum laude at Princeton University and his medical degree with Alpha Omega Alpha honors at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Gabbe is a member of the Institute of Medicine. He served on the faculty of six universities: the University of Southern California, University of Colorado, University of Pennsylvania, University of Washington and Ohio State. He was dean of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine for seven years before returning to OSU in 2008. Dr. Gabbe is senior editor of Obstetrics: Normal and Problem Pregnancies, the leading obstetrics textbook. He and his wife, Dr. Patricia Temple Gabbe, have four children and two grandchildren.
