High school student in New York City
Susannah, currently a senior at The Hewitt School in New York City, is passionate about social good and STEM and hopes to use the latter to propel the former. Susannah has interned at JPMorgan Chase developing web apps for their global, socially-driven hackathons and has learned Processing, Java, and other technologies through classes at school, through website work as co-editor-in-chief of her school's completely digital newspaper, and through the Drexel University Computing Academy. While at Drexel, Susannah developed an Android mobile application called WeatherSense, a weather app targeted for the visually-impaired. Her computing-related achievements won her the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing as a runner-up in the national competition and a winner in the regional New York competition. Susannah is highly involved with the UN Foundation campaign Girl Up, served as a Clinton Global Initiative 2013 and Social Good Summit 2014 teen reporter, and currently serves as head of the Girl Up New York Regional Coalition, a collection of like-minded student leaders from Girl Up clubs across New York. In addition to actively volunteering, Susannah is a founding member of GenerationOn's Service Leaders Committee, an avid handbell ringer, and a rower on Hewitt's varsity crew team
