Tom Mockaitis

Professor of History, International Security Analyst

THOMAS R. MOCKAITIS is Professor of History at DePaul University. He has helped lead counter-terrorism programs for the past 15 years at venues around the world as part of the U.S. Department of Defense Counter-terrorism Fellowship Program. He has written numerous books and articles on the subject, including The ‘New’ Terrorism: Myths and Reality. He received his MA and Ph.D. in Modern British and Irish history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his BA in European history form Allegheny College, Meadville, PA. Dr. Mockaitis is a frequent media commentator on terrorism and security matters, locally, nationally and internationally. He has been a featured speaker at Staff Colleges, Service Academies, centers and institutes in the U.S. and abroad.
