President, Post University
Tom Samph, Ph.D., is President and CEO of Post University, a New England university that offers a traditional, four-year college education at its main campus in Waterbury, Conn., as well as online and hybrid accelerated degree programs through The Online Education Institute of Post University. Samph has devoted more than 40 years of his career to the field of higher education. Prior to joining Post University, Samph was asked by the president of Drexel University to design, plan and build an e-learning business for Drexel. Within three years, Drexel eLearning, Inc. was cash positive. Earlier in his career, he taught statistics, data management, and computer testing applications at Syracuse
University's graduate school, and was responsible for the design and implementation of a performance-based teacher education curriculum. He has also worked for ETS and the National Board of Medical Examiners, and was President and CEO of PTS Learning Systems. He founded Assessment System, Inc. (ASI), which was responsible for the
certification and licensure of occupational and professional personnel, and was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Inc. Magazine and Ernst & Young in 1993. Samph currently sits on the Boards of the Connecticut Better Business Bureau and the Waterbury Regional Chamber of Commerce, and is a Trustee for the Pennsylvania School for the
