Tony Ortuno

Queer, undocumented immigrant; member, Orange County Dream Team, DeColores Queer Orange County, and Youth Empowered to Act (YETA)

Tony Ortuno was born in Guerrero, Mexico. His family immigrated to the United States in June 1992. He grew up in Anaheim, Calif., a city in Orange County, one of the more conservative counties in the state. He identifies as a queer and undocumented immigrant college graduate. He graduated from Santa Ana College in 2010 and finished his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science May 2012 at California State University, Long Beach. He is current a member of the Orange County Dream Team, a grassroots organization that advocates for and supports the rights of undocumented students, and DeColores Queer Orange County, a grassroots organization that crates empowering and supportive social and political spaces for queer Latinos in Orange County.
