Troy Hudson

NBA veteran; CEO, Hudson Enterprises

Troy Hudson, an eleven year NBA veteran affectionately known as “T Hud” has steadily made the transition from the hardwood floor to the board room. An undrafted free agent coming into the NBA, Hudson’s quickness, accurate shooting and mental toughness catapulted him into a fan favorite as a member of the Utah Jazz, Orlando Magic and Minnesota Timberwolves. Hudson surpassed fellow Southern Illinois University alumni and Hall of Fame great Walt Clyde Frazier as its all time two year leading scorer.

Today, the Illinois native is an entrepreneur with the launch of his multi-tiered company Hudson Enterprises. Hudson recently launched a sports management firm that guides athletes on how to properly spend their money and avoid the pitfalls of becoming a celebrity. Inspired by his own long journey to the NBA which included pit stops in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), Hudson launched Undrafted Pros, a recruitment tool to help athletes training for the draft to get recognized by scouts. An avid music lover, Hudson also runs Hudson Entertainment, a record label which launched the career of Mr. CG, a Hip Hop artist that recently signed to Jive Records. Hudson is also in the midst of completing his first fictional book, which is expected to be in stores late 2010.

“Early in my career I learned the importance of making preparations for life after basketball,” said Troy Hudson, CEO of Hudson Enterprises. “Hudson Enterprises gives me an opportunity to create businesses in the areas I love such as music, writing and sports management. It’s important for athletes to understand our careers do not last long and to realize we are not defined by the sport we play.”
