Vidur Kapur

Stand-up comic

Having exhausted himself and others by faking it all his life as a good son living according to the expectations of his conservative family in India, a nerdy graduate of the London School of Economics, a buttoned-up corporate executive in blue-chip companies, a flaming gay fashionista in NYC and an angry brown person horrified by being mistaken for a terrorist. He finally decided to overcome his neuroses, contradictions and demonic fears to become a brutally honest stand-up comedian who is not afraid of speaking the truth and putting himself on the line. Vidur will be taping a comedy special on Showtime called Pauly-tics with comedian Pauly Shore. He was most recently seen on CNN Newsroom with Carol Costello. He was recently a celebrity contestant on the notoriously popular Indian television show Sach Ka Saamna (the Indian version of the U.S. reality show The Moment of Truth), where he fearlessly answered questions in a manner that was truly groundbreaking for India. Vidur has also been an immensely popular act on U.S. college campuses and has performed at over 150 colleges pushing boundaries for South Asians and LGBT students. He was a finalist on New York's Funniest Stand-Up as part of the New York Comedy Festival, and on NBC's Stand Up for Diversity, and he has had several comedy specials on MTV Networks' LOGO Channel, where he was also nominated for a NewNowNext Award. He has also been seen on television in several countries around the world. Vidur has also boldly made his presence felt internationally by touring India, South Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, South America and Europe and is now ready to conquer the world by being outrageous and honest.
