Walter F. Mondale served as the 42nd Vice President of the United States (1977-1981) under President Jimmy Carter. He also served as a two-term United States senator from Minnesota (1964-1977) and was the Democratic Party's nominee for President in 1984 against the incumbent, Ronald Reagan.
