Yaoshiang Ho

Vice President, Head of Business Development, The Huffington Post

Yaoshiang Ho is Vice President and Head of Business Development for The Huffington Post Media Group. In that role, he oversees all partnerships, including distribution, ad networks, international deployments, traffic partnerships, content acquisition, and audience development. He also overseas analytics for HuffPost. Finally, he is business lead for HuffPost Live, the 8 hour a day live streaming news network. In that role he manages FP&A, audience development, and programming licensing.

Prior to HuffPost, he was Business Development Principal at Google. He developed content strategies and struck content acquisition partnerships for YouTube. He also negotiated sponsorships with sports leagues and live music promoters. He procured payments data from credit card processors, credit card acquirers, and credit card issuers. Finally, he developed fiber optic networks in East Africa as part of Project Link.

Prior to Google, Yaosh was Director of Worldwide Digital Media for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, handling distribution to partners like Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, Sony, CBS, and Apple iTunes. He also helped launch MGM HD, a basic cable network, and This TV, a broadcast network. He also licensed merchandizing and video game rights.

Prior to Google, he was Business Planning Manager for The Associated Press. He built financial models for plans including expansion of financial news into APAC, launching a premium ad network for newspaper members. Prior to AP, he wrote the product requirements document for Amazon’s movie download service as product manager. Prior to AP, he held software engineering and product manager roles at Silicon Valley startups.

He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, MS in Computer Science from Stanford, and BA in Computer Science and Minor in Chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. He is also a CFA Charterholder, a Registered Yoga Teacher from Sagara Yoga Teacher Training at Virayoga, and holds his private pilot’s license including an aerobatics sign-off.
