News Animation Improvisations features artist Simone Forti performing live interpretations of newspaper reports and newscasts. Presented as a part of Made in L.A. 2012, this event will include a series of drawings and writing produced throughout the duration of the biennial. B!RDBRA!N (Epilogue)

This event features a performance of "B!RDBRA!N (Epilogue)," the first in a three part series of vignette-based plays by Emily Mast. "B!RDBRA!N" features seven performers ranging in age from 6 to 60. The show explores the meaning projected onto language. A new series of works on paper will also be on view.

Vasquez Rocks Interpretive Center Artmaking Workshop

This free two day workshop invites the public to make rammed earth time capsules and work on the construction of a new public art sculpture at noted geological site Vasquez Rocks. Led by L.A.-based art team Didier Hess, the event features noontime lectures by experts on local pre-history, ancient rock art, and geology. No experience is necessary. Zackary Drucker and Her Friends: Films and Conversation

Screenings to be followed by a conversation with Drucker and actresses Flawless Sabrina and Holly Woodlawn. This free event is a part of Made in L.A. 2012.
Eight Steps: A Users Guide to Addiction

Presented by the Fontbron Academy, this event features the lecture "Eight Steps: The Users Guide to Addiction." This free talk focuses on the causes, costs, benefits, and analysis of addiction and touches on topics including a history of substance abuse, warning signs, and competitive drinking. Artists discussed will include Thomas Kincaid, Ed Moses, and Jackson Pollock. There will also be a raffle.
