A documentary of Gerhard Richter's creative process, juxtaposed with intimate conversations (with his critics, his collaborators, and his American gallerist Marian Goodman) and rare archive material. Watch the 79-year-old create a series of large-scale abstract canvasses, using fat brushes and a massive squeegee to apply (and then scrape off) layer after layer of brightly colored paint. The Floor Show: Gravity and Materials
Gagosian Gallery (Beverly Hills)

Opening reception for a group exhibition of floor-based sculpture. Curated by Richard Marshall and featuring works by artists including Mike Kelley, Robert Rauschenberg, Richard Serra, and Andy Warhol, "The Floor Show" explores the variety of ways contemporary artists have expanded the possibility of the sculptural medium by removing it from the pedestal. On view through July 28, 2012.

Muse ArtWalk

LACMA's annual "ArtWalk" F will feature live music, dance performances, and interactive art projects at LACMA and in neighboring galleries along the Miracle Mile. Admission to LACMA, the Architecture+Design Museum, and the Craft and Folk Art Museum is free during "ArtWalk." Additionally, more than 20 galleries and businesses on Wilshire Boulevard and La Brea Avenue will participate in the event. Pop-Hop Pops Up

Book shop and print studio Pop-Hop Books & Print presents a temporary weekend residency at ForYourArt. Presented in conjunction with the "Muse ArtWalk," this event will feature a selection of books from the store, including art editions, literature, children's books, and zines in addition to a Pop-Up bookmaking workshop. The Pop Hop Pop Up will continue on Sunday, June 17, 2012.

See Change
LAX (Westchester)

Opening reception for "See Change," a permanent video installation featuring 17 original, site-specific works located in the arrivals hall of the Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX, which is open to the public. "See Change" will include two large-scale displays: a 58-screen, 90-foot linear video filmstrip suspended from the ceiling, and a 25-screen media wall. Featured artists include Monika Bravo, Patty Chang and Noah Klersfeld, Kurt Hentschlager, and Caspar Stracke.
