There are three essentials to being a rockstar. First there is talent. This is difficult to come by. You were probably born without it. Second there are groupies: fans, cheerleaders, aficionados, etc. But chances are you do not have an entourage or forty-member "posse," circa MC Hammer style. And third there are sunglasses. From John Lennon to Elton John to Jay Z, every rockstar has sunglasses. Day or night, summer or winter: rockstars always rock their shades. So why not the rest of us?
Society is befuddled by sunglasses in the winter. It is as if the human brain can only handle three outerwear accessories: hats, gloves, and scarves. And while it may be that fabulous Mohawk topped -- Peruvian knit hat, from Christian Dior's Fall 2002 Ready-To-Wear, the most stunning leather gloves from Burberry, or even your great grandmother's vintage Hermes scarf there is no excuse for neglecting your inner rockstar and leaving home without your McQueen Aviators!
Today there are more choices than ever. And how fortuitous that is, because one pair is simply not enough! Oversized Pradas and neon Raybans call for completely different ensembles. One could even go so far as to argue that sunglasses are the same thing as shoes: a necessity that thrives on variety, quality, and fabulousness! Thus this April 17th I urge you to embrace your inner rockstar and grab those Vuitton tinted lenses in order to make your boutique shopping that much more rocking cool! Better yet, buy a few pair too!
