BGG Weekender: Psychedelic Yoga, The Best Fish Tacos in LA, & More (PHOTOS)

If you're in Santa Monica tonight, head over to Fred Segal for a private presale -- cash in on up to 50% off select styles plus an extra 10% with this evite.

(And don't forget to enter our latest giveaway - a mindful eating guide, aka the last diet book you'll ever need. Closes tonight!)

Now that your requisite retail therapy is out of the way, let's move on to the weekend. And while we wish we could close our eyes and sleep until Sunday morning, there's just too much to miss - like a Jimmy Eat World concert at the Palladium (talk about throwback), an amazing happy hour in Santa Monica that we're dying to try (dollar oysters and five spot margaritas, y'all), and a chance to get your hands on a free Americano machine, which we can only imagine will be incredibly useful morning after the aforementioned.

So without further ado, your BGG Weekender...

While looking for interesting dining options this weekend, we stumbled across Dinner Lab - which we immediately applied for. Already in New York, New Orleans, Nashville and Austin, the members-only supper club is opening an LA chapter. It's a splurge (one year is $175 before meals) but we think worth more eating in and coupon cutting to balance it out in our budgets. Apply and hold tight - but for tonight:

Date shakes, sliders, and fries - oh, my. You've had enough salads for one week, so go nuts and hit up Twin Sliders, Hollywood's new high quality fast food window (that's a thing, yes). Plus the leftovers will come in useful when you don't want to get out of bed for first or second meal tomorrow.

If you're planning to get faded one night this weekend (OK, bad use of the word 'if'), this is it. Cyril Hahn (remix king + subject of serious obsession over here) will be spinning at Lure Nightclub - which makes tonight's getting ready music this incredible re-work of Destiny's Child's "Say My Name". Also on the bill - Pitchfork Music Festival headliner Ryan Hemsworth.

Other Shows

The Naked and Famous at The Wiltern, $30+; West Coast Revue featuring DJ Quik, Suga Free, Warren G, Mack 10 at The Observatory, $35; Woods, The Fresh & Onlys, Jessica Pratt at Center for the Arts in Eagle Rock, $15.

This morning, we say: take it easy. Sleep in, catch up on your NetFlix or HBOGo or Candy Crush (yes, those count as chores and yes, they warrant warm feelings of accomplishment) then head out in the afternoon to catch a happy hour and hit up a show.

Santa Monica

There are a few things we love more than a happy hour, especially one on a weekend and with price points $5 and under. Hit up Enterprise Fish Company between 4-7 PM for $5 margaritas, $3.50 draft beers, and $1 oysters.

Remember Jimmy Eat World?? Apparently they're still a band, and they're playing the Palladium tonight - which is good news for that gnawing sense of nostalgia that always seems to creep up as soon as fall sets in. Round up some high school buddies and wile out like it's 1999. Tickets here, $37.50.

Other Shows

The Dead Ships, Wake Up Lucid, Tapioca and The Flea, Tulips at The Satellite, $8; Blue Sky Black Death, Sister Crayon, R E A L M A G I C at The Bootleg Bar, $12.

Orange County

There's nothing in this world we love more than coffee and free stuff, and when the two come together - forget it. Bring an old coffee maker to Anaheim Stadium today and trade it in at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf's Trade Up Your Cup for a free Americano machine. (Our only gripe is that we wish it was closer to LA - but for OC residents, this is a happy day indeed.)

Since you're already down south, stick around to catch the rock-blues tunes of Gary Clark, Jr. at the House of Blues in Anaheim. Overflowing with old school vibes, his performance is bound to make you crave a genre you didn't realize you missed. Tickets $29.50, here.

For those of you in LA today: listen up. The Best Fish Taco in Ensenada can have their regional bragging rights - we found the best fish taco IN THE WORLD. Ricky's fish tacos was once a pop-up shop in Silver Lake but now serves literally the best fried fish dish we've ever tasted in Chinatown, from a stand set up just next door to Chimney Brick Toast Coffee House (which incidentally also has great fare). Grab a cold horchata and enjoy lunch al fresco.

West Hollywood

Psychedelic yoga? Hells yes. AuraCycle opens today on Sunset - think bikram with bonuses like custom color ambient lighting and high tech flooring. Per Racked LA, snag a free 2-week trial period with promo code "TryHotBliss", here - or call the studio and mention the deal to redeem.

Man Man, Xenia Rubinos at the Fonda Theater, $18; Arctic Monkeys at The Wiltern, $38+.

Your Weekend, Sept. 27-29
