When my first child, Gabi, was born, I continued to work and take care of her. My second child, my son, Teozinho, is a special needs child. He was born prematurely at eight months, with Down syndrome and a heart disease. I knew he would have to undergo heart surgery to survive.

I panicked. I didn't think I could look after him and work at the same time.

I realized I had strong support from my family and friends and at my work with global professional services company Accenture. When I learned that Teozinho would need heart surgery, I asked for help at work.
