This past weekend I attended a conference at Yale held by Americans for Informed Democracy.

Originally I'd planned to review the conference here, but its focus was largely on the development of local and grassroots groups -- interesting for me, but probably not the most scintillating subject for a general audience.

So instead I'm just going to shill briefly for the group itself.

If you think that staying informed of global issues is critical for the success of our democracy, then please visit its website,, and learn how to get involved. We cannot continue to engage in global trade and politics without understanding our global context -- and there are any number of ways you can help.
