This Gay Marriage on Course

As the Supreme Court wrapped up the first day of arguments on same-sex marriage my partner of 25 years, David Blank, and I were 1.2 miles down the street (via Constitution Avenue) applying for our marriage license at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. After the legally required three-day cooling-off period to change our minds, we pick up our Certificate of Marriage on April Fools Day. After that, our civil wedding ceremony (officiated by Superior Court Judge Patricia A. Broderick) and dinner (with karaoke singing) on April 6.
