UK University Town Face Off: Oxford vs. Cambridge

Each less than an hour from London, the cities of Cambridge and Oxford are similar in many ways -- not the least of which involves their respective universities that date back more than 800 years. Oxford, the larger of the two, provides a bit more variety, is consistently featured in popular culture and is the more popular tourist destination. Cambridge is quieter and more contained.

Both are worth exploring, from hotels to restaurants to cultural gems. Here are the best in both. —Bridget Arsenault
