Police Officers Posted Heroin User's Arrest on Twitter and Vine

It seems police have taken to social media. During their "Virtual Ride-Along Day," The Santa Cruz Police Department (SCPD) have tweeted and vined a "suspect arrested for heroin." Perhaps an effort to reassure us that we are being protected from drug addicts?

The Twitter post from @SantaCruzPolice, hashtagged #ridewithSCPD, shows the "subject" is "off to jail."

The Vine uploaded by Santa Cruz Police, animates Officer Carly Cross "processing booking paperwork prior to transportation."

Maybe this is some assurance our taxpayer dollars are at work? Or inspiration for those interested in joining law enforcement? Apparently, Twitter and Vine is an outlet these police are happy to use. So lets enjoy this criminal justice via social media?
