Sweet ride at The Pearl in Doha, Qatar.

I recall some hella maddening days.

I crafted sweet content. Helpful content. Eye-popping content.

But my wrappers stank.

My presentation was poor. My blog design a bit whack.

More than anything though my blog post titles went off the charts on the lame-o-meter.

With some practice - involving trial and error and tossing salt over my shoulder thrice daily - I decided to co-create an audio book to help you craft attractive, enticing blog titles:

I wanted to flesh out some key points here to help you rake in sweet blog traffic and profits by writing helpful, eye-popping titles for your blog posts.

1: Big Numbers Please

I went all big number with it some 8 months ago on my blog.

I have not looked back.

Virtually all of my blogging tips posts of the week - published Saturday or Sunday - detail big numbered, practical steps or tips to help you grow a successful blog.

Readers love big numbers because big numbers = big promises. Numbers also create order in your mind. Orderly minds are pleased, peaceful minds.

Start off with the number to grab attention spans. Number 10 on up should work fine but no need to go overboard. My 10 tips/steps themed posts do as well as my 25 tips/steps themed posts because folk want double figures themed titles more than anything and don’t need a 10,000 word treatise to knock their socks off.

2: How to

People want to know how to do things. How to blog post titles are popular because of your practical bend.

Example; peep the title of this post. You wanted to know how to create effective blog titles no doubt. Attention-arresting blog titles. So you clicked through to learn more.

My how to style posts are popular because my readers want to know how to blog. Step by step. Practical tips. All that good stuff.

Practical posts reign in virtually all nice. Just pepper “How to” in your blog post title to clearly explain the topic and style of your blog post.

3: Huh?

You ask a question?

Most folks will need to know the answer.

Question-themed posts are too enticing to turn down. Inquiring minds want to know. Really. Because we all have the nosy gene. Some more developed than others. I am a sucker for a good post title questioning something or someone or some.....whatever. If I see the question mark, I am toast. Gotta click through to see the answer to the question.

Warning; this gives you no license to set up click bait. Follow up on the question with a robust answer to deliver on the promise you made through your question-title.

4: Colorful Stories

My colorful travel story themed blogging posts reel ‘em in. Why not? Who would turn down a chance to learn why 2 Thai lady boy prostitutes would make me a better blogger? How does me getting attacked by 2 wild men in Kathmandu, Nepal make you a better blogger?

Title your blog posts colorfully. No need to spend a month in Kathmandu to spin colorful tales. Life provides you with endless stories. Put a fun spin on your day to day living, color it up and boost those click throughs.
