Children Of 9/11 Victims Share Poignant Messages With Paris

"I know what it's like to have my father killed on national television."

People who have been affected by horrific acts of violence shared some moving words with Paris, following the attacks that killed at least 129 people and injured 352 others

An emotional video from Vox features the children of 9/11 victims, offering their love and support for the people of Paris.

While each 9/11 story included in the video is unique, there is one steadfast overarching theme that's clearly present: Resilience.

One woman shares a striking message of empathy:

"I know what it's like to have my father killed on national television."

Though many in the video said they experienced pain, they also felt hope:

"My dad’s favorite number was 33. I went to the gym today and … the only locker that was left open was number 33," one woman said. “And I thought, ‘OK, wow, OK. I’m OK today. I’m good.”

And finally, many in the video say they believe the most powerful antidote to hate is simply spreading love:

"I do believe that it's up to us now. Because we know what anger and hatred looks like," one woman says. "And we can't add to that anymore."
