'A Brief Visual History Of Booze' Goes Way Back Into Our Pickled Past

It's 5 o'clock somewhere, right?

Some people say drinking booze is the secret to longevity. As it turns out, alcohol has had a pretty long life of its own. 

A new video by The Atlantic gives a brief, animated history of libations. This happy-hour history lesson dates back to 8500 BC with barley beer, all the way through the beloved margarita in the 1940s to the popular beers of today. It even discusses cocaine wine, which is, in fact, a real thing

We don't know about you, but suddenly we're craving some grape, honey and rice wine circa 7000 BC.
