This is a deeply serious man. Whatever the Republicans fling at him over the next 90 days, no one now can have any doubts about his depths as a candidate.

What struck me most forcefully about Barack Obama last night was that, especially for a first time audience, he established himself as presidential -- exactly what one should do in an acceptance speech. He conveyed a sense of enormous strength and purpose, an individual who knows exactly what he wants to do and precisely what he must do to reach his ends. All of that silly stuff about Paris Hilton and celebrity and weakness on national security should seem particularly nonsensical to anyone after hearing this address. This is a deeply serious man. Whatever the Republicans fling at him over the next 90 days, no one now can have any doubts about his depths as a candidate and his commitment to changing this land.
