Strangers Rally To Provide Awesome Birthday Surprise For 8-Year-Old Boy With Autism

Andrew "A.J." Greene is about to receive a wonderful birthday surprise.

The 8-year-old, who has autism, has an unusual passion for his age: he's fascinated by clocks, WPXI reported. His mother, Ange Dellavecchio, posted on Facebook asking people to send clocks to A.J. for his upcoming birthday later this month.

The goal, Dellavecchio told WPXI, is to fill A.J.'s entire room with clocks.

"I thought for his birthday, how cool would it be to see how many clocks he could get from friends and family, then they shared it," she told WPXI. "It’s not just about him getting clocks, but about spreading awareness of autism, different interests and acceptance."

According to the video above, A.J. has received clocks from as far as British Columbia, Canada.

The response to the Facebook group, AJs Clock Surprise, which has more than 1,400 members, has inspired Dellavecchio. She wrote that she was motivated to return the kindness A.J. has received by donating clothing to charity:

This isn't the first time the Internet has helped to make a kid's birthday extra special.

A boy named Colin, from Kalamazoo, Mich., turns 11 years old next week. He'd told his mom that he didn't have any friends to invite to a birthday party, so she created a Facebook page where friends and family could post birthday wishes and show him that he's loved. Currently, the page has more than 2 million "likes," and is filled with birthday messages that Colin's mom plans to surprise him with on his birthday.

A.J.'s birthday is on March 20th. If you want to help fulfill his birthday wish, you can mail him at:
