All-Black Interior Color Palette Is Surprisingly Sophisticated (PHOTOS)

LOOK: The Sophisticated Color Palette You Need To Try

All black everything has its place (like in a Jay Z lyric, of course), but as an interior color scheme? Yeah, we were doubtful, too. That is until we saw this project by Taiwanese design firms Atelierii + Just Make Design called “Home in Black Serenity."

The residence, located in Taipei, is designed to create "a sense of overall luxury," throughout its strategically situated living quarters and four bedrooms, which you'll find hidden behind secret doors on both sides of a central hallway, as plusMood.com explains.

From ceiling to floor, the designers put a single color to work, using texture -- like a rough wall made from natural stone and marble floors -- to create distinction between the spaces instead.

“Black is the color of the hidden, the secretive and the unknown, creating an air of mystery,” the architects said of their design.

And they aren't the only ones who feel that way, according to this monochromatic residence we discovered recently in Germany.
