"Always a bridesmaid and never a bride"...If you are reading this article, then you have heard this before. This little comment can feel like a snide remark at times. You may have heard it from your mother, your grandmother, other people's grandmothers, and those random people at a wedding who think they are being funny. As all of your friends begin to get married and you keep finding yourself planning bridal showers and bachelorette parties, you may start feeling the pressure to be the next one down the aisle. BUT, before you start freaking out, remember why being a bridesmaid is AWESOME so you don't forget to enjoy it.

Never a bride but ALWAYS a bridesmaid?
When you are starting to feel like a permanent bridesmaid, remember WHY you are in that role. If your friends keep asking you to be in their wedding...you are an amazing friend! The bride is specifically choosing you, out of all of the people she knows, to stand next to her on her special day. The bride obviously trusts you, loves you, and considers you a great friend. With all of the love coming from your friends...who needs a husband!?

The roles WILL reverse
It may seem like everyone is ahead of the game, but when your special day finally arrives, all of the brides you were a bridesmaid for will be the ones addressing your invitations and making wedding favors. Enjoy helping your friends make their day as magical as you want your wedding day to be, because they will be the ones standing next to you when you say "I do!"

You will have experience with weddings
When you have been to a dozen weddings before you have one of your own...you get a pretty good idea of what you like and what you don't. You know that you absolutely loved the florist that your sister used, can't wait to go back to that bridal store where you fell in love with so many dresses, and that you want a more experienced photographer than the one your best friend hired. Tell your friends to save all of the research of vendors, venues, and caterers and you will be set when it is time to start planning your big day.

Weddings are fun
Although you may be ready for it to be your time...don't turn all weddings into a negative experience because it is not your own. This is a fun occasion for everyone involved! It is a party with free drinks, free food, and all of your friends...plus you never know who you might meet. ;)

Don't let yourself believe the superstition that being a bridesmaid more than once is bad luck when all of the signs point to the opposite. So when you become a bridesmaid, yet again, make sure to look at it from a positive perspective and remember what you can get out of the experience as well!
