Amanda Bynes Leaves Hospital, Enters Rehab

UPDATE: Rick and Lynn Bynes have released a statement via their lawyer confirming that their daughter has entered rehab, according to TMZ. "Amanda was stuck with people in much worse condition than her. She was scared, afraid and did not leave her immediate room area. She is getting specialized psych care, one on one treatment, not drug rehab."

PREVIOUSLY:
Troubled actress Amanda Bynes has left UCLA Medical Center for Malibu rehab center The Canyon, reports gossip website TMZ, where she's been for the past three weeks. In late July, the 27-year-old former Nickelodeon star had been involuntarily committed for a psychiatric evaluation after she was arrested for setting fire to the driveway of a home in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

The hospitalization was a long time coming, according to those who had been tracking Bynes' bizarre behavior over the past year, which included wearing wigs in public, throwing a bong out of her 36th floor Manhattan apartment and attacking celebrities on Twitter. She was previously charged with a DUI in Los Angeles and engaged in a series of vehicular accidents.

Bynes' parents have also sought conservatorship over their daughter. No word on how long Bynes will remain in treatment at The Canyon, though TMZ does note that the rehab center lacks the "psychiatric facilities available at UCLA ... and we're told she's still in a desperate state."
