Amanda Eliasch 'Peccadilloes' Exhibition At Leadapron Gallery, Los Angeles

Artist and fashion editor Amanda Eliasch's neon signs, which are inspired by the seven deadly sins, are a tongue-in-cheek look at Hollywood culture. The works, from her new exhibit "Peccadilloes," which are based off of cartoons of Eliasch drawn by her friend and art patron Kay Saatchi, reflect a neon Americana, both dirty and pristine. They capture the culture of hamburger joints, of motels with no vacancy and the strip bars proclaiming their wares. The pieces capture the seven Mortal Sins: Wrath, Envy, Sloth, Greed, Lust, Pride, and Gluttony. Eliasch explores humanity's deepest desires and motivations in the most public form of art: advertising.
