Andy Warhol Exhibit Opens This Weekend At The Corcoran (PHOTOS)

LOOK: The King Of Pop Art Is Coming To Town

The appeal of Andy Warhol appears to be growing.

Christie's International will auction about 125 paintings, drawing, photographs and prints later this month, with pre-sale estimates ranging from $600 to $70,000.

If you can't afford to drop that much on pop art, an upcoming exhibit at the Corcoran Gallery of Art may be a better alternative.

"Shooting Stars: Publicity Stills from Early Hollywood and Portraits by Andy Warhol" opens Saturday, February 9, and runs until Sunday, April 21. A mix of stills from the 1920s, featuring actors such as Mary Pickford, Rudolph Valentino, Gloria Swanson and Lon Chaney, will be showcased alongside Warhol's headshots of actors, politicians and unknowns from the 1970s and 80s.

The Warhol photographs are from The Andy Warhol Foundation's Photographic Legacy Program. The 1920s stills are from the Corcoran collection, donated by private collector Robert Hunter in 1997.
