Anna Dello Russo Wears Abercrombie & Fitch, But Not Vintage Clothes

Does Anna Dello Russo Actually Wear (Gasp!) Abercrombie & Fitch?

Just when you think you know someone...

Anna Dello Russo, one of the biggest personalities in fashion, is famous for her undying devotion to designer clothing (of which she has enough to fill an entire apartment). But in a recent chat with Peter Dundas for the Financial Times, the Vogue Nippon editor spilled a few unexpected details about that overflowing wardrobe:

Pyjamas and tracksuits are sloppy so I only wear Abercrombie & Fitch tracksuits to go to my yoga class.

Seriously? A&F? Even we ditched our matching sweats-and-zip ups in middle school... then again, you know how crazy those Europeans go for Abercrombie. And A&F is seemingly the only kind of schlumpy clothes ADR will allow. "If you dress comfortably, you don’t get the look," she tells Dundas.

We were also surprised to learn that, despite her lifelong love of designer fashion, she's not a big collector: "I'm not a vintage fan -- I don't like the smell of old clothes."

It's a shame, considering what an amazing archive of vintage threads Anna would have. But it's her ever-changing wardrobe (including pieces like that wild bird hat) that keep us watching Dello Russo's every move. With the 2012 Met Gala just around the corner, we're on especially high alert: last year was Dello Russo's first Met Gala ever and we're expecting her to make a triumphant return, particularly with Italian icon Miuccia Prada as one of this year's honorees.

We have no idea what she'll wear... but we're assuming it won't be Abercrombie & Fitch. Read more at FT.com.

For fun, here's an ADR GIF we love...
