While ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the league is expected to suspend Smith for up to two preseason games, Ed Werder tweeted that he could face a regular-season suspension.

This is not the first incident of on-field misconduct involving Smith and Incognito. During week one of the 2012 season, Smith was fined for kicking Incognito.

A 9-year veteran, Smith had seven sacks and two forced fumbles for the Texans in 2012.

UPDATE: Citing a league source, ESPN reported on Tuesday that Smith will be suspended for the remainder of the preseason and Week 1 of the regular season when Houston plays San Diego.
