Aung San Suu Kyi RELEASED: PHOTOS Of The Detained Myanmar Opposition Leader

Having been hailed as the "new Mandela," Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi was freed Nov. 13 after her military-imposed house arrest finally ended.

Saturday will mark the first time the now 65-year-old Nobel Peace Prize laureate has tasted complete freedom in seven years. She has been held in some form of detention for 15 out of the last 21 years. Crowds of supporters held vigil last night in Yangon, though some were said to be disappointed when rumors Suu Kyi would be granted an earlier release turned out to be false.
