Autodance, Clio-Winning Smartphone App, Autotunes Your Dance Moves (VIDEO)

Autotune Your Dance Moves!

So you think you can dance, even though you really can't? No worries -- there's an app for that.

Autodance, a mobile app developed by Florida-based advertising agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky as a promotional campaign for Ubisoft's console video game "Just Dance 3," tweaks a user's dance moves -- no matter how awkward or arhythmic -- into a shareable personal dance video.

The app works by stitching together four clips of someone (or something) moving and laying them over a choice of dance tracks from the video game. It matches video motion to the song's beat and loops them, creating a short video clip. The results are often humorous.

Autodance won a gold Clio award in the interactive mobile app category on May 15.

Adverblog described the app as "every advertiser’s dream," because of its viral marketing potential. They're not wrong: as seen in the following video slideshow, users have autodanced everything from work crews to pets to pieces of machinery.
