Babs Is Coming To Brooklyn!

Attention, people who need people: Barbra Streisand is coming home! Babs will take the stage at Barclays Center at Atlantic Yards in October, marking the first time the Brooklyn native is playing her hometown borough.

Borough President Marty Markowitz said of the newly announced performance, "We never had a venue. We finally have a facility that shows Brooklyn respect."

Streisand's official website heavily touted the singer's Brooklyn roots in a post:

Streisand will be making a triumphant return to her native borough. Raised in the Flatbush neighborhood and a graduate of Erasmus Hall High School, Streisand will perform publicly for the first time in Brooklyn.

Streisand stated, "Brooklyn to me means the Loews Kings, Erasmus, the Yeshiva I went to, the Dodgers, Prospect Park, great Chinese food. I'm so glad I came from Brooklyn‚ down to earth. I guess you CAN come home again."

Fans of the legendary singer have been eagerly awaiting the official bill, with rumors swirling for weeks. Speculation heightened after an Atlantic Yards blogger spotted Streisand's name on a Ticketmaster listing.

Tickets for the "Back To Brooklyn" October 11th performance will go on sale Monday, May 21. Fans can sign up for advanced tickets now or go directly to Ticketmaster and Barclays at 10AM on the 21st for the official sale.
