Man Allegedly Kills Wife Over A Hamburger

MIAMI -- A West Kendall man faces murder charges after police say he stabbed his wife multiple times during a dispute on January 21.

What were they arguing about? His wife refused to make him a hamburger, reports CBS Miami.

Bartolo Gelsomino, 78, was arrested after his daughter discovered the lifeless body of her mother at their home, according to the arrest affidavit.

In a taped confession, Gelsomino detailed the stabbing to police and later took investigators to the scene, revealing the murder weapon and clothes he was wearing during the attack.

"That day it was a hamburger, another day it was eggs,” the daughter told CBS Miami, detailing her father's long history of domestic abuse over 52 years of marriage.

Gelsomino was apprehended when he returned to the scene of the crime, wearing a blood-stained shirt, reports the Miami Herald. Detectives had to find a translator for the Sicily-born retiree whose first language is Italian.

Gelsomino is being held without bond on one count of second-degree murder.
