Sing me a song, you’re the ... piano bear?

Police in Vail, Colorado, are warning homeowners to bear-proof their homes after one bear was caught on a security video tickling the ivories inside an apartment last week.

The tenant phoned police Wednesday afternoon to report a burglary after returning to what looked like a ransacked apartment. A responding officer determined the culprit was likely a black bear that entered through an open kitchen window looking for food, according to a police statement.

The officer noted minor damage to the apartment, and food missing from a freezer. But it wasn’t until the resident checked her security camera and found a honey of a video that the bear was conclusively fingered.

The bear seemed very interested in the apartment piano, and pawed the keyboard.

The result was described in the police statement as “unbearable” and “grizzly,” but Beatles fans may recognize the bear’s music as similar to the opening chord of “A Hard Day’s Night.”

Police report the bear is still on the loose ― bad news for the resort area’s music lovers.

Vail officials ask locals to bear-proof their homes with the help of a guide published by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Department.
