Bernie Sanders Plays The Bongos To Ben Harper's ‘Burn One Down’

Bernie Sanders has become a household name as the liberal firebrand shaking up the Democratic primaries. A lesser-known fact about the Vermont senator is that in 1987 he released a folk album title “We Shall Overcome.”

After learning about his musical past it’s hard not to reexamine the pronounced, rhythmic, gesticulations Sanders uses during speeches in a new light: as the expressions of a virtuoso trapped inside a politician’s body. Comrades and gentlemen, we give you Bernie Sanders playing the bongos to Ben Harper's titularly appropriate stoner anthem “Burn One Down.”
