They say a week is a long time in politics. But for Bill Maher, the Trump administration “happens in dog years.”
“As always with Donald Trump, there’s just too much news to get to,” said the “Real Time” host on Friday’s broadcast of the show. “There’s so much fucking crazy, it’s like three weeks of Trump is like five years of Nixon.”
In dissecting the president’s third week in power, however, Maher claimed it had been a “good” one for “the resistance” — those opposed to Trump’s policies.
“This was a good week for checks and balances, a good week for maybe surviving president man-baby,” he said, referencing the federal appeals court ruling against Trump’s controversial Muslim travel ban.
“Turns out a law isn’t just something Steve Bannon writes on a napkin and Donald Trump signs while making his smart face,” Maher added.
