O'Reilly Calls Olbermann 'Hateful,' Refuses To Say His Name

Bill O'Reilly reacted to the departure of his longtime nemesis Keith Olbermann from MSNBC by refusing to refer to him by name. Instead, he called Olbermann a "hateful commentator" and mocked MSNBC's ratings.

O'Reilly's comments came during his regular segment with Bernie Goldberg. After noticing that O'Reilly wasn't using Olbermann's name, Goldberg said, "did somebody leave MSNBC?"

"They took one of their guys out," O'Reilly said. When Goldberg started asking him who the person was, O'Reilly said "it doesn't really matter who the guy is or why they took him out...I don't really want to get involved with all of that personal stuff."

Instead, the two took turns bashing MSNBC and the press for what they saw as its fawning attitude towards their rival channel. O'Reilly noted that MSNBC had come in 28th in the ratings for 2010, whereas Fox News had come in 4th. Such a result, he said, was a "disgrace" for MSNBC. Goldberg agreed, saying that for Olbermann to be regarded as a success was like being called the "tallest midget in the room."
