How To Make A Dollhouse Out Of Binders (PHOTOS)

LOOK: Binders Full Of Barbies

A cute Christmas craft project dreamed up by a blogger last year seems doubly clever this holiday season, in light of recent (meme-worthy) events.

When Southern Disposition blogger Kendra put together a handmade Barbie dollhouse for her 4-year-old daughter Sadie a year ago, she can't have anticipated that the materials she used would become politically charged elements in the 2012 election cycle.

Enter Mitt Romney and his "binders full of women."

On her blog last December, Kendra explained that she made the DIY dollhouse for her daughter, Sadie, because she wanted something more "compact, inexpensive, and cute" than the dollhouses she could find on the market.

In addition to four three-ring binders, the project calls for scrapbook paper, fabric (for "curtains") and other supplies for making mini furniture. (Read Kendra's full instructions on Southern Disposition here.) "The best part," according to Kendra? "[T]he Binders are SO compact that you can remove the furniture, fold them up, and put them on a bookshelf!"

Kendra told HuffPost Parents that the dollhouse is "still Sadie's favorite toy" a year after the fact -- and wrote on her blog that it even inspired a further DIY effort on Sadie's part this fall.
