Black Sabbath Announce Their End After Nearly 50 Years Together

Black Sabbath announced on Facebook that they have finally reached #TheEnd.

On Tuesday, they posted an image that read “Black Sabbath 1968–2017” with the caption “#TheEnd.”

This announcement comes after Ozzy Osbourne and company said they had their final gig together last month in their hometown of Birmingham as part of their The End Tour, which started in January 2016. But, in rock music, a “final tour” doesn’t always mean it’s the final tour.

Black Sabbath has spent 49 years together, creating 19 studio albums since they came together in 1968 in Birmingham. The band featured Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ozzy Osbourne and Bill Ward. Drummer Tommy Clufetos eventually replaced Ward.
