Friends and family of Brooke Mueller know the actress (and ex-wife of Charlie Sheen) has been in a bad state for several months, so few were surprised when she was arrested once again, this time for possession of cocaine and assault in the third degree.
"Brooke has been in and out of treatment for months -- surprise, surprise," a person close to the family tells HuffPost. "She was out two weeks and back in."
Mueller -- who by now may be better known for her rap sheet than her film credits -- added one more mug shot to her collection after Aspen police officers were approached by a woman who claimed that Mueller had assaulted her. When the officers later found Mueller at Escobar nightclub, they arrested her and charged her with assault in the third degree and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Mueller was released on a bond of $11,000. Her District Court date is scheduled for Dec. 19.
"No one can get through to her," the insider continued. "Not her parents. Not Charlie. Even the thought of losing her twins isn't enough to keep her sober."
Those close to her hope that Mueller can find a way to turn her life around -- before it's too late.
